About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover: Aggregation of recombinant EGFP-tagged gephyrin (green) at presumptive postsynaptic sites containing endogenous gephyrin (red) and the GABAA receptor {alpha}2 subunit (blue) upon transfection in primary hippocampal neuron cultures. The colocalization of the three markers appears white. Gephyrin is an anchor protein selectively found in GABAergic and glycinergic synapses. The immunofluorescence staining of the_{alpha}2 subunit outlines the cell body and dendrites of the transfected neuron. The image was acquired using confocal laser scanning microscopy. See article by B. Lardi-Studler et al. (pp. 1371-1382).
