Cytoplasmic Whorls in the Golden Hamster Oocyte

Paired and multiple cytoplasmic sheets composed of 250-Å particles, not bound to membranes, and of lower electron density than ribosomes, were observed in some 14-day-old hamster oocytes. The possible significance of these structures is discussed.
