Fig. 4. pol ${kappa}$ foci formation is independent of pol ${eta}$ . Pol ${eta}$ -deficient XP30RO cells were transfected with pEGFPpol ${kappa}$ (GFPK, open bars), pEGFPpol ${eta}$ (GFPH, filled bars). 20 hours later, cells were UV irradiated with 10 J/m² and then incubated for a further 6 hours. The proportion of cells expressing eGFPpol ${kappa}$ or eGFPpol ${eta}$ in which the protein was localised in nuclear foci was determined. All the experiments were carried out in triplicate and each data point is the mean of three independent scorings. Error bars indicate standard error.
